As a bookkeeping matter, the Giants needed to cut a player in order to get Armstead on the roster. It was supposed to be a temporary move, but Finn's injury opened up a spot.

WR Plaxico Burress spent the workouts on the side, as he's recovering from offseason surgery to clean up his ankle. He should be ready to go by training camp. "I was playing with it for 4-5 years," Burress said. "That lets you know how good I'm going to be this year."
